DBE 528 Hz - my line of art niche perfumes (in cooperation with Mateja Š. Dimic) was awarded with Silver award for the best innovation in central Slovenia in 2021 at the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia and the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Slovenia.
I am pleased to share that my concept of DBE - Data Bank of Emotions, which I conceived during the simulation of the Lunar Mission at ESA ESTEC in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, in 2015, has reached far and high: Amongst the fierce competition of large development teams of mostly pharmaceutical companies and telephone Apps it was awarded (as a concrete product, materialized in collaboration with the industrial designer Mateja Š. Dimic) with a Silver recognition for the best innovation in 2021, by the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia and the Ministry for Development of Economic Development and Technology of Republic of Slovenia at the ceremony on Thursday, September 23 in Ljubljana.
Whilst my experience of isolation at Esa's simulation of the Lunar Mission in 2015, the idea of DBE - Data Bank of Emotions in the form of a scent was born - to remind astronauts of their home and to connect them with Earth even when they are deep in space. (From an article in the International Journal of Geoscience, 2015) Soon after my experience at the Lunar mission simulation, I developed the fragrance DBE in collaboration with French perfumers H. Reynaud et Fils - firstly, the "A Message from Earth" and later "Curiosity" and "Empathy" - my DBE Data Bank of Emotions fragrances coming a long way ...
... they were part of the research in the spring of 2019 at the EMMISH III project at the Lunar Base, located on the slope of the Hawaiian volcano Mauna Lau, where also the impact of smell on overcoming feelings of loneliness was among the topics of exploration ...
... Meanwhile - in collaboration with industrial designer Mateja Š. Dimic, who designed unique ceramic caps in the form of asteroids for: Message from Earth, stones from Mars for: Curiosity and colorful excerpts from nature from our Earth for: Empathy - the fragrances filled the bottles of the Hrastnik glassworks with my hand-engraved shadows transferred to the Idrija lace pattern. Just before the Covid-19 pandemic, we launched the DBE 528 Hz line in Vienna in the autumn of 2019 at the Wall store ... they were on the shelves in Liska at Vienna's Graben and at the Vienna Airport, as well as in a few other Viennese boutiques ... and are now available at Das Chegini and Nachbarin stores in the heart of Vienna ...
... and as the first (and till now the only) product from Slovenia that can be found at the most prestigious store in New York City, at the Bergdorf Goodman on New York's 5th avenue...
...This spring, the Slovenian-American Educational Foundation ASEF at Stanford University presented the fragrance DBE - Message from Earth to the astronaut of Slovenian descent Captain Sunita Williams on the occasion of presenting her with the Lifetime Achievement Award ....
... Meanwhile, as a part of ESA, its Moon Gallery has accepted a piece of clay impregnated with the scent of the DBE Message from Earth among the 100 works of art that will land on the Moon in 2025 and will remain there as the first art gallery. As early as next year, DBE will fly to the International Space Station to reach Earth orbit for the first time ...
But all this does not diminish the importance of yesterday's recognition for the best innovation in the Central Slovenian region, which is reflected in a silver glow and is already encouraging new ideas ...
