...searching for the answer in my art performance set within my installation at Kollegienkirche in Salzburg, last Friday.
Thanks to all who joined me this Friday in interacting with my Earthling, within my immersive art installation "I am an Earthling - what are you?" at the magnificent Kollegienkirche in the heart of medieval Salzburg, to reflect on our identity and connection to Earth, encouraging a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.
I AM A HUMAN, WHAT ARE YOU? is a 15-minute performance of sound, movement and text that takes place within the site-specific installation, "I AM AN EARTHLING, WHAT ARE YOU?"
The so-called mirror dome on the marble floor of the Kollegienkirch Church also reflects our planet Earth, which appears as a "breathing, living organism" and is the home to all Earthlings.
The audience is invited to look within, and to reflect upon our human presence as diverged from Earthlings, and existing instead as Homo Sapiens upon it and, the problematics associated with this.
Does life begin with birth?
Does birth result in one body?
Does one body pair up with one mind?
Does one mind satisfy itself with one personality?
Does one personality hold the keys to peace?
Does peace translate into humans?
Do humans have a place in the future?
"Do humans have a place in the future?" ... seems to be connected to the question of whether we still have the strength and ability to hope ...
I AM A HUMAN, WHAT ARE YOU? invites us to find and regain the Earthling in us and everything that is embodied in it within ourselves.
