Recycled Earthling Puzzle, RE-recycle! 

Recycled Earthling Puzzle, RE-recycle!  Kindly invited to the opening of my solo exhibition at Gallery Mulec in the heart of the bohemia part of old town Ljubljana, at Trubarjeva 22, this Tuesday at 6 pm. 

My thanks to Peter Mulec for his kind invitation and great help in setting up my works, Jirzi Kočica for his interesting text on my exhibition and also for his valuable help in setting up, and  last but not least also thanks to Žiga Okorn for the beautiful catalog he made.

Recycled Earthling Puzzle, Re-recycle! explores what it means to be not only human, but an Earthling.

The engraved line bends, twists, and flows — but it never breaks. 

Like a fingerprint it carves out a path— a transcription of our shared human presence on this planet?

The “Recycled Earthling Puzzle” begins with my black-and-white analog photograph — hand-developed in the darkroom with no negative for replication. I then transform this image into a lace pattern inspired by Idrija lace — translating shadow into thread, photography into texture, and emotion into form. From there, the lace matrix is enlarged and hand-engraved onto recycled plexiglass plates.The once soft thread becomes a rough line, winding and knotting like life itself — imperfect, yet alive!In the end, what remains is the shadow — the trace of what it means to be an Earthling, a human made of recycled fragments, echoing the cycles of life.
