NACHBARIN presents
SALLE PRIVÉE — room behind violence
In collaboration with magdas HOTEL
24 November 2025, ViennaOpening event of 16 Days Against Violence Towards Women

On 24 November 2025, the cultural initiative NACHBARIN will launch SALLE PRIVÉE, a multi-room artistic intervention taking place throughout magdas HOTEL in Vienna’s 3rd district. Conceived as a station-based theatre and spatial exhibition, SALLE PRIVÉE uses art as a public space to address the many forms of violence faced by women today — psychological, physical, social, economic, and institutional.
Seven hotel rooms and one chapel will be transformed into immersive environments where artists translate lived experience into image, gesture, sound, voice, and presence. By inviting visitors into intimate, once-private spaces, SALLE PRIVÉE seeks to break silence and build new forms of solidarity.

Participating artists include Grischka Voss, Gina Mattiello, Pippa Galli, Martha Labil, Maria Stern, Daniela Luschin, Eva Petrič, and others.
The evening begins at 17:30 with a welcome reception, followed by two guided parcours through the rooms from 18:00 onward. The event will be accompanied by contributions from FEM.A, StoP (Stadtteile ohne Partnergewalt), Wiener Frauenspaziergänge, Caritas, and Elisabeth Rosenmayr, former press representative of feminist pioneer Johanna Dohnal.
Due to limited capacity in each room, advance ticket reservations are required.

I am honored to participate in this event on the very pressing theme with my multimedia installation placed into chapel: photography, video installation, and a performative intervention exploring the fragile boundary between caring touch and violating touch:
“One touch too much becomes one touch never again.”
If you are in Vienna, come to the event and support engagements against violence behind private walls!
