I am especially delighted to invite you to the opening of Me & 美 (Mi: Beauty), a group exhibition at the Asian & American Art Foundation in New York, on Aug, 20, 6- 8 pm, where I will present two recent works: Blooming Thorns and Seedling of Empathy.

I am honoured to participate in Me & 美 (Mi: Beauty), a group exhibition bringing together contemporary women artists from diverse cultural backgrounds.
My contribution includes two works that reflect on resilience, human interconnectedness and empathy.
Blooming Thorns, a tapestry-like collage created from recycled handmade laces collected around the world as well as specially for this art piece created Idrija lace roses by Idrija experimental lace group, was inspired by the landscapes and atmosphere of Japan. Like blossoms emerging among thorns, the work reflects on our capacity to continue dreaming even in times of uncertainty and adversity.
Seedling of Empathy grows from the belief that empathy begins as a small yet transformative gesture. Hand-engraved into plexiglass is the heart motif of the Earthling — a human shadow translated into the pattern of Idrija lace — symbolising the invisible threads that connect one life to another.
