About the Event

I’m happy to share, that the set-up of my Corona Rose in Three Movements - REvolving in the Church of Holy Trinity (Die Dreifaltigkeitskirche, Taubenstrasse 4, 3011 Bern) is complete!

Corona Rose in 3 Movements - REvolving, spreads over 20 square meters and consists of recycled lace from around the world combined with handmade lace rose petals created during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic as a social action in which the lace-makers in Idrija (Slovenia) expressed their feelings during their first confrontation with the corona virus. As such, the artwork is a collective response to the hardships caused by the pandemic, but which nevertheless arouses and spreads optimism.

The corona rose, whose flowers resemble corona virus mutations, illustrates that thorns cause pain, but the beauty of the rose gives hope that even from pain, many beautiful and positive things can be born.

Kindly invited to its official opening tomorrow, 28th of October at 18:00 to join in its growing of hope to overcome the corona crisis!

My thanks for the great support of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Switzerland and the Holy Trinity Church in Bern (on the photo with Mr. Janez Čuk, president of the Cultural Bridge Slovenia- Switzerland, and Ms. Jeannette von Moos, Holy Trinity Church, Bern).

My special thanks to Maja Svetlik from the Idrija Lace School who inspired the group of Idrija lace-makers  for experimental lace to express their emotions during the hardest times of the current pandemic through the creation of lace rose petals. Now these petals form the top part of the Corona Rose in 3 Movements - Revolving, currently waiting its visitors in the special light of this beautiful church in Bern.
