5,4,3,2,1... and only a cloud remains... Moon Gallery (and my Earthling Tattoo Seal and DBE Message from Earth) art collection on its way to the ISS, reaching it Monday morning.
The MG- 17 Cygnus Antares rocket - with also my “EARTHLING tattoo seal” and “DBE Message from Earth” (in coop. with M.S.Dimic) amongst the other 64 art works of the Moon Gallery project - has been successfully launched yesterday from NASA Flight Facility in Wallops, Virginia. It is heading towards the International Space Station, reaching it tomorrow morning...
It was a wonderful day, it was THE day! Unfortunately, I could not get any amazing images that documented the amazing rocket launch with the first art gallery heading for space - Moon Gallery on board the NG - Antares rocket, but instead a “haiku” of my feelings associated with it. 1,2,3...and only a cloud remains ... Watching that rocket push ahead through the opaque blue sky I felt just like what my art works were meant to combat, feelings of isolation and homesickness... so I guess a part of me has remained in those cubic cm cubes, well at least in shadow form...
Thank you to everyone who made this possible, to all the artists... ...to the Moon Gallery curators Anna Sitnikova and Elizaveta Glukhova, to Nanoracks for baiting us and for their collaboration, and last but not least, Bernard Foing for having the idea and bringing us all together to realize this dream!
Bernard Foing with my Earthling Tattoo Seal!
Looking forward to see through Nanorack’s eyes our first gallery in space, but not the last!
