INDAY/NIGHTOUT

InDayNightOut – a fashion collection that does not sleep!

InDayNightOut is a fashion collection that turns around the clock, not just in terms of our chronological clock, but also our biological one. It is a dialog between black and white, turning around the clock, clockwise and anti-clockwise... It can be worn in any season, at any time of the day or night – night and day. Both sides, InDay and NightOut, can be combined with each other and recombined with other collections. Utilizing old patterns of lace and dollies collected from all over the world and combined to form, in this case, my Human Fish* lace assemblage, separate segments were extracted from it as DNA parts and hand printed on each piece of clothing separately.

InDayNightOut collection is soft with its wool basis and reminds of tradition and connection, giving a feeling of safety and transgenerational connection. With recombining its two different poles (InDay and NightOut - white with black prints and black with white prints), it is crossing borders of tradition, looking to the future – reaffirming fashion as a vision as well as offering our bodies warmth, love, respect and, last but not least, a voice for expression and beliefs.

InDayNightOut does not believe in “the right way” of wearing cloths. Going beyond that, it crosses borders of gender, culture, time and belief system. It goes by what feels right, giving a voice to the inner world of our collective unconsciousness where day and night are one and where white and black are both essential elements and reside happily and respectfully side by side, supporting one another - as do all the separate laces in my Human Fish image - the blue print of my InDayNightOut collection.

InDayNightOut is not just a fashion collection. It is an “art to wear” collection where each dress is a unique piece, which stems from my art installations, extending into real life - in real time - day and night!

COLLECTIVE DRESS IDENTITY

My collective collection does not want to segregate but wants to unite. It does not create boundaries or walls with buttons and zippers. Instead it wraps around every curve and adapts to it. It responds to all cultural requirements, covering and uncovering in a dialogue with certain contexts and situations, it adapts to all climates, as it can be coupled with a sweater and pants underneath. Or with nothing underneath other than underpants, appropriate for the hottest day in the tropics. My dress is thus truly chameleonic – culture wise and climate wise, corresponding to changing environmental conditions - thus perfect for contemporary nomadic times.

SECOND SKIN - e@motional does not protect you just from UVA light, but provides you with the emotional shell in the fusion of Marilyn Monroe cut and content of my Gr@y Matter Shadows* from my periodic table of Shadowed Emotions.

Marlyin Monroe’s famous white dress has been the pivotal point of my inspiration.

Her white dress served as an inspiration for the cut of my second skin pieces where I combine leather, lace and my shadows.

I see Marilyn Monroe as a role model of the ability to transform roles and in this way

being able to adapt to different environments.

Marilyn Monroe and Marilyn Monroe Shadow by Eva Petrič are not just chameleonic dresses – they are reversible art to wear, stemming as unique pieces from the Shadows&Puppets –

language of E@motion REacting installation, which was exhibited in Berlin, Ljubljana, Munich, Vienna and New York City.
