Photo Festival Rotlicht – Back to Black

ROTLICHT is an international festival for analogue photography, which will take place for its second time this autumn and is intended to establish itself as an annual, steadily growing event.

During the ten days of the festival there will be daily exhibition openings, workshops, photo walks, lectures and many other events around analogue photography.

The main exhibition this year will be in the Atelierhaus of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. The 20 winners of the Open Call, which ended in summer with a total of 345 submissions from 46 different countries, will be exhibited there. The exhibition "Back To Black", curated by the Photon Gallery, will also be on display.

With the Back to Black project, Photon Gallery Wien is following the global trend of reviving interest in black and white, analogue and so-called hybrid photography and, above all, in the contemporary, creative use of old photographic techniques. An international group exhibition as part of the Rotlicht Festival, including Slovenian participating artists: Jošt Dolinšek, Peter Koštrun, Borut Peterlin, Eva Petrič and Herman Pivk.
