About the Event

Renowned Austrian musician Rupert Huber and multimedia artist Eva Petrič will present themselves in the dialogue Your Dirt – My Dirt, a lyrical journey through the collective "hematomas" of the Isonzo Front, the Dirty War in Argentina, 9/11 New York Ground Zero and the emerging hematoma of the coronavirus – through four musical compositions by Rupert Huber, performed by him onstage within Eva Petrič’s transmedia art installation and performance.

In the second part of the evening, the journey will continue with Eva Petrič and her Siren Odyssey in her transmedia scenic installation EVAcuate @ EVOLUTION, on the waves of 11 frequencies that make up the alphabet of e @ motion evolution.

“Could our evolution be described by 11 frequencies of 728, 741, 285, 417, 396, 174, 639, 528, 825, 963 and 432?

Could they be the alphabet of our emotional evolution? The in-between links or the errors – the junk? Are our emotions evolutional junk, the potential of our evolution?”

(Eva Petrič)

Rupert Huber is a composer who is best known for his piano music and music installations. He has been travelling the world with his electronic music project TOSCA, for the last 25 years. Numerous collaborations with Ars Electronica have made him well known in the realm of Media Art. For Huber, music is communication, as well as an active state of peace.

His theory of composing, called dimensional music, considers physical space and unknown possibilities to create social and participatory music architecture.

Eva Petrič is a transmedia artist, who has first been known for her creative use of photography, exploring with it the language of shadows to decode our existence on ephemeral levels. Her motivation to create spaces within various levels, all defined by atmosphere, lead her to apply a transmedia approach in her art. This resulted in over 30 large scale in situ found lace recycled assemblages exhibited at various, mostly public spaces around the world, interweaving video, sound, performance, and movement. Her transmedia project Eden, Transplanted, received Best Art Performance Award at the United Solo Festival in New York City in 2017 and was awarded last year at the tenth anniversary of this festival, with the Best of Ten Years recognition. Her current project EVAcuate @ EVOLUTION – Siren Odyssey is the continuation of Eden, Transplanted.
