About the Event

I'm honored to be part of the 30-year celebration of diplomatic relations between Japan and Slovenia marked symbolically by the exhibition Beauty intertwined; art of Slovenia &Japan, taking place in the medieval atrium of the Ljubljana City Hall.

For this exhibition themed as "Intertwining Beauty" I wanted to capture the essence of Japan with a Haiku, my Haiku but materialized; visualized - as an organic organism that searches constantly for what it can attach onto, grow into…intertwine with…

Quantum Sakura; beauty formula mutating Sakura blooms quantum blossoming

The exhibition opens June 29th at 6:00, by the Mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Jankovic as well as the Ambassador of Japan to Slovenia mr. Hiromichi Matsushima.

Kindly invited to attend and celebrate the 30 years of friendship of Slovenia & Japan! Thank you to the Embassy of Japan and the municipality of Ljubljana for making this possible and to all the people involved in generating good relations and in this way nurturing the friendship between Slovenia and Japan.

Thank you to the fantastic team of Veronika, Ana, Kilian and Noriaki Sangawa for helping me install my 15m installation recycled lace organism as it is now in this beautiful old atrium, which has everything except water, which was a part of it once upon a time, judging from the old mysterious well. In ode of it, I erected my lace like octopus organism of beauty to bring back the once upon a time water. Last but not least, I’m extremely thankful for the amazing accomplishments of professor and artist Noriaki Sanagawa for arranging everything, both this exhibition and the one that just opened with the same artists as here, in Kagawa Japan; Utazu Biennale where I presented my GR@Y MATTER - language of shadows diptych and for which I’m so honored to have received the award of excellence for.

Prof Akira Tatehata,  president of the Tama Art University and member of the jury in front of my diptych “Gr@y Matter - language of shadows” series, which I have always felt is connected to the esthetics of Japanese artistic vision; I am happy to share that it has been awarded with Excellence Award for photography and graphics at the Utazu Art Awards Biennial 2022.

If you cannot visit the opening, kindly invited to see the exhibit of 30 years of friendship any time till July 27th and see the works of all 22 participating artists.
