March 5 and March 7: I am an Earthling - what are you? Art installation and performance at Kollegienkirche in Salzburg
I’m happy to share that in less than a month, my site-specific installation “I AM AN EARTHLING, WHAT ARE YOU?” will open at the magnificent and unique Kollegienkirche (protected as part of the UNESCO World Heritage), in the heart of Salzburg.
My installation, composed of a 12-part object (9.5 x 4 meters) made of aludubond, hanging over a 12m diameter mirror surface with a 17-minute sound sequence that can be heard every hour, could also be understood as a Lenten cloth which does not focus on one particular main altar, but views the entire church as an altar. It asks us to update our view of what is considered main and central and invites us to “see” by feeling, to let go.
