About the Event

My Collective Heart in the Church of St. Mary, the oldest functioning church in Berlin.

I see a delicate heart at the robust Alexander Square ... I see people with a hard life and a tender heart in the robust Alexander Square ...

I see, I feel the urge for the Collective Heart!

I see the angels of Mary’s Church flying across the sky over Berlin and whispering: Why am I me and not you? Why am I here and why am I not there?

I see all this and all of us in the collective heart that hangs in Mary's Church and reaches 11 meters in height and 5 meters in width - but it is in a nun without borders, accepting everything and everyone.

This time, my Collective Heart seems softer than it was at the first installation in 2016 in the Vienna Cathedral of St. St. Stephen's Cathedral and New York Cathedral. John the Divine in 2019 - deliberately to bring more softness to the robust Alexander Square in dialogue with the light-filled ancient church.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, thank you to the priestess of the Evangelical Church of Mary Corrini Zisselberger, who opened this beautiful church for the first time to contemporary art. Thank you to the head of SKIC Berlin Saša Šavel Burkart, without whom my Collective Heart would not have found its way to Berlin, and thank you to the Ambassador of Slovenia to Germany Franc But for his trust and support for this project. I am honored that the opening of the artistic intervention with the Collective Heart in the heart of Berlin coincided with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Slovenia's independence and the beginning of Slovenia's presidency of the European Union. You are invited to see it if you are in Berlin or if your trip takes you to Berlin this summer. It will be on view until August 26.
